David’s Latest Read - Marble Hall Murders by Anthony Horowitz

Featuring his book-within-a-book detective, Atticus Pund, and the long-suffering real-world editor Susan Ryeland, this is the third novel in the series by the ingenious Anthony Horowitz. Following on from Magpie Murders and Moonflower Murders, this book maintains a similar approach but manages to be refreshingly different in style and premise, and more importantly provides another hugely entertaining read, keeping you guessing and head-scratching right through to the end. I particularly enjoy Horowitz’s writing style which makes reading a real pleasure, along with light touches of humour, wit and much intelligence. Out in paperback from 25 September and available at Teasel and Skylark, pop in and treat yourself soon.

Richard’s Latest Read - Strange Pictures by Uketsu

Creepy drawings, cryptic blog posts, and disturbing family secrets — this is no ordinary whodunnit. Told through four self-contained stories, the novel gradually reveals itself as a larger, chilling puzzle. Uketsu weaves these fragments together with an atmosphere of dread, delivering genuine shocks and a psychological unease that lingers long after the last page.

Innovative in its use of illustrations, Strange Pictures is both eerie and addictive, rewarding readers as the sinister truth finally comes into focus.

Perfect for fans of dark mysteries with a twist, psychological horror, and fiction that lets you piece the clues together yourself.
